Can I have a treatment if I have a history of cancer?
Yes. Massage is considered a beneficial therapy for guests with a history of cancer, as it can support both mental and physical recovery from side effects. The type of treatment you can receive depends on your individual circumstances and stage of recovery.
A short consultation before the start of your treatment ensures your treatment is safe, suitable, and tailored to your current needs.
Treatment Eligibility:
Over 5 Years Clear: Eligible for any treatment.
Under 5 Years Clear (No Active Treatment/Recent Surgery): You may receive any treatment if you are not undergoing chemotherapy or radiotherapy and have not had surgery in the last six months.
Active Treatment or Within 1 Year Post-Treatment: Specific gentle options such as the Calm Seas Massage or VOYA Sea Soothers are recommended.
Recent Surgery (Last 6 Months): Selected treatments may be adapted to avoid the surgical site.
All treatments are available, with adaptations to ensure comfort and gentle pressure.
Service Adaptations:
Treatments can be performed side-lying or with support from pillows or bolsters.
Adjusted according to how you feel on the day.
Therapists may work on the scalp, hands, arms, or feet if certain areas cannot be treated.
The VOYA Organic Hydrating Body Scrub and Lazy Days Detox Seaweed Bath are not recommended within one year of chemotherapy or radiotherapy due to sensitive skin and detox effects.
