Pregnancy Guidance - Hoar Cross Hall
We want all of our guests to feel comfortable and confident when visiting Hoar Cross Hall during pregnancy. The information below provides a general guide to the facilities that may be suitable during pregnancy and those that should be avoided.
This guidance is for information purposes only and is not medical advice. Every pregnancy is different, and we strongly recommend speaking with your GP, midwife or other qualified healthcare professional before using our spa facilities during pregnancy. Your healthcare provider will be best placed to advise you based on your individual circumstances and stage of pregnancy.
Pregnant guests should always listen to their body, stay hydrated and leave any facility immediately if they feel unwell, dizzy, faint, excessively hot or uncomfortable.
The following facilities may generally be suitable for pregnant guests, subject to their healthcare provider's advice:
Cabanas
Relax Room
Bar & Lounge
Saltwater Pool
Sanctum Pool
Loungers and Sleep Sessions
Experience Showers
Hanging Pods and Day Beds
Heated Loungers: Use is at the guest's own discretion, with a towel recommended underneath. Guests should discuss their suitability with their healthcare provider before use.
Due to the heat, temperature extremes or nature of the experience, the following facilities are not recommended for use during pregnancy:
Three Outdoor Pools
Coldwater Therapy
Juniper Log Sauna
Sauna
Salt Steam Room
Aromatherapy Room
Hot Tubs
Massage Jets
Foot & Neck Massage
Foot Massage
Plunge Pool
Body Massage Jets
Saunarium
Steam Room
The purpose of avoiding these facilities is primarily to reduce exposure to significant heat, steam or extreme changes in temperature. NHS guidance advises that overheating, dehydration and fainting can be concerns during pregnancy and recommends avoiding situations where the body may become too hot, such as hot tubs, jacuzzis, saunas and steam rooms.
Pool Temperatures
Guests should be aware that some of our pools and water facilities operate at temperatures that may not be appropriate during pregnancy.
Salt Pool: 31°C
Sanctum Pool: 34°C
Indoor Cold Plunge: 15°C
Salt Pool Spas/Jacuzzis: 37°C
Terrace Outdoor Spas: 38°C
Outdoor Cold Tubs: 4–5°C
Pregnant guests should seek advice from their healthcare provider before using any pool or water-based facility where they are unsure of its suitability.
Treatments During Pregnancy
Pregnant guests should always tell their therapist that they are pregnant before receiving any treatment.
Not every treatment or product is suitable during pregnancy, and suitability can depend on the stage of pregnancy and the individual's circumstances.
Complementary therapies and aromatherapy products should not automatically be assumed to be suitable during pregnancy.
If You Are Unsure
If you are unsure whether a particular facility, treatment or experience is suitable for you during pregnancy, please speak to your GP, midwife or other qualified healthcare professional before your visit.
Our team can provide information about our facilities, but we cannot provide medical advice or determine whether a facility is medically appropriate for an individual pregnancy.
Your health and wellbeing are our priority, and we encourage all pregnant guests to make decisions based on advice from their own healthcare professional.
